Financial Controller – Investment & Financial Markets

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Financial Controller to own the end‑to‑end finance and accounting function for a fast‑growing UK‑based investment and financial markets firm with international operations. The role is full‑time, hybrid and reports directly to the General Manager & CEO in Dubai.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day finance and accounting activities, including accruals, journals, reconciliations and payables.
• Analyse financial statements from investment and trading teams and prepare management accounts, cash‑flow reports and financial analysis.
• Oversee revenue, cost, expense and equity‑related accounting, as well as vendor management and accounts payable.
• Support treasury functions, banking relationships and cash monitoring.
• Coordinate external audits, statutory reporting and regulatory finance reporting across multiple jurisdictions.
• Develop and maintain finance procedures, controls and governance frameworks.
• Assist in building finance dashboards and reporting tools, preferably using Power BI.
• Continuously improve processes, controls and reporting as the business scales.

Required profile

• 5‑8 years of relevant finance/accounting experience.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in investment, trading, brokerage, banking, FinTech or similar financial services.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, especially accruals, journals, reconciliations, revenue and cost accounting.
• Proven audit and financial reporting experience.
• Familiarity with UK or international accounting and regulatory environments is an advantage.
• Immediate availability or able to start within 30 days.
