Financial Controller

About the role

Swissquote is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee financial reporting, accounting operations, internal controls, budgeting, and compliance for its Dubai offices and the regional rep office.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting and finance operations, including month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closings.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements and reporting packs.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, UAE tax requirements and other accounting regulations.
• Oversee accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, payroll accounting and cash management.
• Develop and maintain robust financial controls and accounting policies.
• Coordinate annual audits and liaise with external auditors and tax advisers.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital and liquidity.
• Lead annual budgeting and forecasting, analyse performance against budget and advise management.
• Ensure accurate VAT and corporate tax compliance.
• Identify financial and operational risks and implement controls.
• Manage and develop the finance team and improve accounting processes and systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, ACA or CIMA preferred.
• 5–10 years relevant finance/accounting experience, preferably in UAE/GCC.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, UAE VAT and corporate tax.
• Leadership and communication skills with experience managing a finance team.
