Financial Controller

About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing fintech start‑up focused on financial inclusion, is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to lead all financial operations, reporting and compliance in the UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily financial transactions, cash flow management, accounts payable/receivable and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with IFRS and UAE regulations.
• Lead tax compliance, VAT filings and regulatory reporting to the UAE Central Bank and other authorities.
• Develop and maintain internal control systems, manage financial risks and ensure audit readiness.
• Optimize financial systems (MS Dynamics, SAP, QuickBooks) and streamline processes for efficiency.
• Lead, mentor and develop a high‑performing finance team while collaborating with other functions.

Required profile

• 10‑12 years of finance and accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in fintech or a start‑up environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA, CMA, ACCA or similar certification highly preferred.
• Deep knowledge of UAE financial regulations, IFRS, VAT and tax compliance.
