Financial Controller - M&A Accounting Team

About the role

A Financial Controller is sought for the M&A Accounting team in the UAE, within the Global Financial Reporting, Accounting and Tax department. The role owns close, reporting and audit, partners with local management and brings each business in line with corporate standards. It suits a hands-on controller who enjoys multi-entity complexity and wants real influence on how acquisitions integrate.

Key responsibilities

• Own month-end close and reporting for one or more acquired entities
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and key journal entries
• Partner with local management to understand the business and explain results versus budget and forecast
• Support budgeting, forecasting and earn-out tracking
• Book and maintain PPA entries, and give input for valuations and technical memos
• Handle audit requests and act as the auditors' main contact for the entities
• Align local policies, processes and controls with corporate standards, including SOX where applicable
• Coach local finance teams to improve close quality and timing

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in accounting or controllership; Big 4 background is a plus
• CPA/ACCA or equivalent qualification
• Strong US GAAP knowledge
• Hands-on close and multi-entity experience; M&A integration and ERP transition/integration experience is a plus
• Business-minded and comfortable working with non-finance colleagues
