Financial Director – Digital Assets & Islamic Finance

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Director with a strong traditional finance background, ideally from UAE banking, fintech or regulated financial services, who has meaningful exposure to digital assets. The role will own the financial operating engine, make the business legible to the board, investors and internal teams, and drive the path‑to‑profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Build and own the group’s annual budget and rolling 12‑/24‑month forecasts across three entities, including stress‑testing against revenue scenarios and token price movements.
• Create integrated financial and commercial reporting, eliminating reconciliation gaps between sales, treasury and accounts, and produce weekly flash, monthly board packs and quarterly business reviews.
• Lead the shift to P&L‑driven management, defining unit economics, revenue drivers and cost accountability for each business line.
• Manage multi‑currency operational treasury across fiat and digital assets, maintain real‑time cash visibility and coordinate token treasury governance.
• Implement financial controls appropriate for a regulated virtual‑asset business, own the external audit relationship and ensure compliance with VARA, AML/KYC and Islamic finance requirements.

Required profile

• 8–12 years of finance experience, with a commercially oriented role beyond pure controllership.
• UAE market experience, familiarity with local banking, regulatory environment and GCC business practices.
• Proven ability to build financial infrastructure in a scale‑up or growth‑stage environment, including P&L reporting frameworks and forecasting models.
• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or CFA preferred) and genuine familiarity with digital assets and token economics.
• Comfortable operating without a large support team and able to work hands‑on until the function scales.
