Fire Chief - Emergency Response

About the role

The Fire Chief will provide strategic and operational leadership for fire and emergency services across the organisation’s sites, ensuring safety of people, property and assets while fostering a culture of resilience and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate operational response to fires, alarms and other emergencies, ensuring effective incident management and after‑action reviews.
• Oversee fire risk assessments, prevention programmes and corrective actions to reduce fire‑related incidents.
• Develop, review and implement fire and emergency policies, emergency response plans, business continuity interfaces and site evacuation strategies.
• Plan and deliver realistic training programmes, simulated exercises and joint drills with internal teams and external partners.
• Produce incident reports, performance metrics and drive continuous improvement through analysis of incidents and audit findings.

Required profile

• Substantial operational experience in fire and rescue services or emergency response units, including leadership roles.
• Proven experience of incident command, fire safety management and multi‑agency coordination.
• Relevant professional qualifications in fire safety, fire engineering or emergency planning (desirable).
