Fire Fighter

About the role

The Fire Fighter will respond to emergency calls of any nature, ensuring the safety of the public, property, and the environment. Working under the direction of the Officer in charge, the role involves rapid response, rescue operations, and maintenance of fire‑fighting equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Respond immediately and safely to fire incidents, road accidents, floods, bomb threats, hazardous material spills, and rail or air crashes.
• Rescue trapped people and animals, providing basic first aid where required.
• Inspect, maintain, and test fire engines, hydrants, and emergency water supplies.
• Participate in regular drills, physical training, and fitness programmes to maintain operational readiness.
• Drive fire vehicles safely to any location within or outside the port, following routine maintenance checks.

Required profile

• Certificates in Fire Safety, Engineering, Science, HSE or related fields; a Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
• Firefighter Level II certification (minimum 120 hours beyond Level I) covering fire behavior, suppression systems, rescue, and hazmat operations.
• Certified Emergency Vehicle Operations (CEVO) – at least 16 hours.
• Hazardous Materials operation course – at least 24 hours.
• First responder course (OPRC Level 1 – at least 40 hours).
• UAE driving licence.
• Excellent English; Arabic is an advantage.
• 0‑1 years of relevant experience, with exposure to building fires, road traffic accidents, and basic first aid.
