Fire Protection Engineer

About the role

ARX is expanding its Middle East presence and seeks a Fire Protection Engineer for its Dubai site office. The role focuses on fire protection engineering for airports, aviation facilities, and large infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with local and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review and coordinate fire protection deliverables, including sprinkler, standpipe, deluge, foam suppression, fire pump, fire water storage and external fire network systems.
• Assess fire protection requirements for fuel, flammable liquid and hazardous material areas, and coordinate external fire hydrant ring mains, water tanks and civil utilities.
• Prepare and review technical documentation, hydraulic calculations, design reports, specifications, drawings, material submittals and authority submissions.
• Support design workshops, technical meetings, constructability assessments, testing, commissioning planning and close‑out of interdisciplinary comments.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 7‑12 years of relevant experience, with at least 4 years reviewing fire protection submittals in the Gulf.
• Airport or aviation facilities experience, especially aircraft hangar foam suppression and fuel area protection.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA standards and Dubai Civil Defence code.

• NFPA 13/14/15/16/20/24/30/409 standards.
