Fire Truck Operator

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Fire Truck Operator to join our emergency response team. The role involves driving fire vehicles to incident sites, operating firefighting equipment, and supporting rescue operations while ensuring the readiness of all apparatus.

Key responsibilities

• Standby in an alert condition and respond immediately to emergencies as directed.
• Drive fire trucks and other emergency response vehicles to incident locations safely.
• Operate fire pump, foam, water and DCP systems and other mechanical rescue equipment during incidents.
• Assist fire and rescue crews with first‑aid, patient transport and on‑scene support.
• Perform daily inspections, routine maintenance and periodic performance tests of fire trucks and their equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle registration, licensing and equipment logs.
• Participate in HSE drills, training sessions and related safety events.
• Undertake regular physical fitness training to meet the physical demands of the role.

Required profile

• Physically fit and able to remain alert for rapid emergency deployment.
• Ability to follow instructions from incident commanders and work as part of a rescue team.
• Willingness to perform routine maintenance and documentation tasks.

Required skills

• Fire truck operation and driving.
• Fire pump and foam/water/DCP system operation.
• Basic maintenance of fire‑fighting equipment.
• Inspection and testing of fire‑truck apparatus.
