Firefighter

About the role

The fire service is seeking qualified firefighters to respond swiftly and safely to emergencies across the port and surrounding areas. You will protect lives, property, and the environment by tackling fires, accidents, hazardous spills, and other critical incidents.

Key responsibilities

• Respond immediately to emergency calls, fires, road accidents, floods, bomb threats, hazardous material spills, and rail or air crashes.
• Rescue trapped people and animals, providing first‑aid and evacuation support.
• Inspect, maintain, and test fire appliances, equipment, hydrants, and emergency water supplies.
• Participate in regular drills, physical training, and fitness programs to maintain operational readiness.
• Drive fire vehicles safely to any location inside or outside the port, following routine maintenance checks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Safety, Engineering, Science, HSE, or a related field (Master’s degree a plus).
• Firefighter Level II certification (minimum 120 hours beyond Level I) covering fire behavior, chemistry, suppression systems, rescue, and hazmat operations.
• Certified Emergency Vehicle Operations (CEVO) – at least 16 hours (NFPA 1451/1002).
• Hazardous Materials Operations course – at least 24 hours (NFPA 472, OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120, EPA 40 CFR Part 311).
• First Responder Course (OPRC Level 1) – at least 40 hours (IMO standards).
• Valid UAE driving licence.
