Flight Paramedic

About the role

The Flight Paramedic is responsible for delivering critical care to patients during helicopter transport, supporting Search & Rescue, aero‑medical evacuation, and HEMS missions. The role ensures patient safety, complies with UAE Air Force operational documentation, and maintains the highest standards of medical and flight safety.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct, compassionate care to patients of all ages during flight, following established protocols and the patient’s plan of care.
• Verify that the aircraft is fully stocked with required medical supplies and equipment, completing daily checklists.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, develop and adjust care plans, and document interventions.
• Monitor patient condition continuously, delivering appropriate treatments within licensure limits.
• Communicate flight movements, patient status, and interventions to senior flight personnel.
• Ensure safe hand‑over of care at destination, including detailed patient reports.
• Clean, disinfect, and restock equipment after each mission to maintain aircraft readiness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Medical Care or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Paramedic, with at least 1 year in air‑medical service.
• Current AHA CPR certification (adult & child), ACLS, PALS, and PHTLS/ITLS certifications.
• Flight Medical Assistant (FMA) or Aviation Health Care Provider (AHCP) certification, or proven HEMS experience.
• Ability to work under the strict safety standards of SAR and military aviation operations.
