Flow Cytometry Scientist

About the role

The Flow Cytometry Scientist performs high‑complexity flow cytometry testing for diagnostic and disease‑monitoring applications, ensuring accurate and timely results to support patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct high‑complexity flow cytometry assays including immunophenotyping, lymphocyte subsets, CD34 enumeration, PNH, MRD and other validated tests.
• Prepare specimens and antibody panels, perform staining, washing and apply validated controls and acquisition parameters.
• Operate, calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot flow cytometers, documenting performance and corrective actions.
• Analyze data using validated gating strategies, document findings in the LIS and escalate clinical interpretation as needed.
• Support assay validation, verification, competency assessment and quality management initiatives.
• Maintain inventory of reagents, controls and consumables, ensuring proper storage and traceability.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to students and trainees.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Current DHA professional license/eligibility.
• 4‑5 years of laboratory experience with at least 3 years in clinical flow cytometry.
• Strong knowledge of hematology, immunology and laboratory accreditation standards (CAP, DHA, JCI, ISO 15189).
