Food Safety Intern

About the role

The Food Safety Internship at Emirates Flight Catering offers hands‑on experience in ensuring compliance with food safety standards across catering operations. You will work closely with the food safety team to support verification, sampling, and investigation activities while developing practical knowledge in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Verify Critical Control Points (CCPs), Operational Pre‑requisite Programs (OPRPs) and Prerequisite Programs (PRPs) to ensure compliance with the Hazard Control Plan.
• Collect food samples for microbiology analysis according to the sampling plan and support laboratory administrative tasks.
• Gather and maintain food safety data, monitoring registers, and verification records to identify trends.
• Conduct personal hygiene verification of food handlers and report deviations.
• Perform scheduled thermometer verification to ensure temperature monitoring equipment accuracy.
• Assist in customer complaint investigations and traceability exercises, gathering evidence and documentation.

Required profile

• Level 2 Food Safety Training (mandatory).
• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (preferred).
• Good communication skills in English and ability to work both independently and within a team.
