Food Safety Specialist

About the role

The Food Safety Specialist will ensure that all food safety standards are met across Emirates Flight Catering’s operations. You will lead internal inspections, audit suppliers and support continuous improvement of food safety performance.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out spot verification through internal inspections on the shop floor and report findings in shift reports.
• Monitor food safety performance by reviewing internal audits, customer complaints and preparing trend analyses for business units.
• Conduct on‑site audits of local food suppliers and e‑audits of overseas suppliers according to schedule.
• Investigate critical food‑safety related customer complaints and supplier issues.
• Perform microbiological analysis and ensure ISO 17025 requirements are maintained in the laboratory.
• Supervise and guide Food Safety Supervisors and Assistants, ensuring CCPs, OPRPs and PRPs are monitored.
• Participate in HACCP reviews for new products, process changes and support external audits by airline and commercial customers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Food Technology or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in a food‑safety role within catering, food manufacturing or a similar environment.
• Strong written and spoken English, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
