Forward Deployed Engineer (Dubai)

About the role

Telnyx is building a local Enterprise Sales Pod in Dubai and needs a Forward Deployed Engineer to work hand‑in‑hand with an Enterprise Account Executive. You will embed with enterprise customers, design and ship production‑grade communication and AI solutions on Telnyx’s global network.

Key responsibilities

• Understand customer workflows, AI use‑cases and integration challenges by embedding directly with their engineering teams.
• Design, prototype and launch custom implementations such as AI voice assistants, WebRTC solutions, and LLM‑driven applications using Telnyx APIs (Voice, Messaging, Fax, Wireless).
• Deploy and operate model gateways (LiteLLM or similar) and manage routing, load‑balancing, cost tracking and observability for both hosted and self‑hosted LLMs.
• Instrument full‑stack observability (metrics, logs, traces) and create runbooks for production stability.
• Lead POCs, pilots and production roll‑outs from whiteboard design to go‑live, staying engaged until solutions are stable.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience building and shipping production software, including on‑call responsibility.
• Strong ability to run technical discovery, design architectures and troubleshoot complex integrations with customers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English; Arabic is a plus.
• Willingness to work onsite in Dubai (hybrid) and travel across the UAE/GCC.

Required skills

• Programming: Python, Node.js/TypeScript, Go.
• Container orchestration: Kubernetes (deployment, secrets, config management).
• Observability tools: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Graylog or ELK.
• Event‑driven systems: Kafka or similar high‑concurrency message queues.
• API design and implementation: OpenAPI, REST, GraphQL, authentication, rate limiting.
• Real‑time communications: SIP, WebRTC, voice/messaging systems.
• LLM gateway experience: LiteLLM, Portkey, Kong AI Gateway or similar.
