Freelance Sinhalese Transcriptionist (Remote)

About the role

Perle Systems is seeking a freelance transcriptionist fluent in Sinhalese to convert two‑speaker, channel‑separated audio recordings into accurate, timestamped transcripts. The work is fully remote and flexible, with a minimum commitment of four hours per day.

Key responsibilities

• Listen to 2‑speaker audio recordings in Sinhalese.
• Transcribe each speaker’s utterances verbatim.
• Label speaker turns as Speaker 1 or Speaker 2, matching the audio channel.
• Insert timestamps at the start of each turn (HH:MM:SS format).
• Maintain zero speaker‑label errors, ensuring Speaker 1 matches Channel 1.
• Produce sequential, gap‑free transcripts that meet quality standards.

Required profile

• Native or near‑native fluency in spoken and written Sinhalese.
• Excellent written Sinhalese with correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
• Ability to work independently and achieve daily output targets.
• Stable internet connection and a computer for remote work.
• Availability for at least four hours per day.
• Prior transcription experience is a plus; all candidates must pass a qualification test.
• Achieve a Word Error Rate of 5 % or less on all transcripts.
