Freight Pricing & Operations Executive

About the role

Vibrant Freight, part of Navitrans SA, is an international freight forwarding and logistics company focused on the UAE, East Africa and West Africa markets. It is looking for a Freight Pricing & Operations Executive who will own freight inquiries, prepare competitive solutions, coordinate with international partners and help expand the business.

Key responsibilities

• Handle import, export and cross-trade freight inquiries, with a strong emphasis on air freight, and prepare competitive quotations for air, sea (FCL/LCL) and multimodal shipments.
• Negotiate freight rates and commercial terms with airlines, shipping lines, overseas agents and logistics service providers, and follow up on quotations to improve conversion.
• Maintain accurate records of inquiries, quotations, follow-ups and shipment confirmations, and identify new trade lanes and customers.
• Coordinate with suppliers, shippers, vendors and customers on shipment execution, and understand import/export documentation for East and West African destinations.
• Coordinate third-party inspections and certifications such as Certificates of Conformity (CoC) and Pre-Shipment Verification of Conformity (PVoC), and liaise with inspection agencies.
• Work with the operations team so confirmed shipments are executed according to quoted costs and agreed service terms.
• Build and maintain relationships with airlines, carriers, freight agents, suppliers and customers, and take ownership of inquiries from receipt through confirmation.

Required profile

• 2-3 years of experience in freight forwarding, pricing or international logistics, preferably in the UAE.
• Experience handling international import and export shipments.
• Familiarity with East and West African trade lanes and their compliance requirements.
• Established relationships with airlines, shipping lines, overseas agents or logistics vendors are advantageous.
• An existing customer portfolio or the ability to generate independent business is a significant advantage.

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of air freight pricing, operations and documentation.
• Knowledge of third-party inspections, CoC and pre-shipment inspection requirements.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, organizational and follow-up skills.
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment with multiple inquiries and deadlines.
