Frontend Design Engineer

About the role

We are building an enterprise AI platform where AI agents interact with business applications through a user interface. As our first Frontend Design Engineer, you will own the visual and interaction language of the product, establishing the design system, frontend architecture, and UI standards.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain a design system in Storybook, including design tokens, theming, documented components, visual states, and accessibility checks.
• Translate product ideas into usable interfaces, prototyping quickly in Figma and implementing in React/TypeScript.
• Design AI‑native UI patterns such as live agent progress, step‑by‑step views, error handling, and human hand‑over states.
• Develop data‑dense operational screens (review queues, audit trails, dashboards) that remain clear and calm.
• Set frontend tooling and standards (Vite, linting, unit/component/E2E tests, visual regression testing) and ensure WCAG 2.1 AA compliance and strong Core Web Vitals performance.

Required profile

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong focus on frontend development and UI design.
• Portfolio demonstrating visual and interaction design skills in shipped products.
• Proven technical leadership – architecture decisions, mentoring, raising engineering standards.

Required skills

• React (hooks, composition, performance tuning) and TypeScript.
• Storybook, design tokens, theming, and component libraries.
• Modern CSS (CSS Modules, Tailwind, CSS‑in‑JS) and responsive design.
• Figma for design and prototyping.
• Accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) and semantic HTML.
• Frontend tooling (Vite, linting, unit/component/E2E testing, visual regression testing).
