Full-Time Faculty – Mechatronics Engineering

About the role

The American University in the Emirates (AUE) invites applications for a full‑time faculty position in Mechatronics Engineering for the 2026‑2027 academic year. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Robotics and Control Systems, and will support the department’s academic and research missions.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver 24 credit hours per academic year across the specified specializations.
• Develop, review, and update curriculum to align with industry and research advancements.
• Assess student work, provide academic advising, and mentor research projects.
• Participate in departmental committees, administrative duties, and community service.
• Maintain an active research program, publish in indexed journals, and seek collaborations with colleagues.
• Integrate web‑based and digital technologies into classroom instruction.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited university.
• Recognition by the UAE Ministry of Education (or WES equivalency if the degree is not from the United States).
• Minimum of 2 years of teaching or professional experience at an internationally accredited university.
• At least three peer‑reviewed publications indexed in Scopus or five in other reputable journals within the past five years.
• Excellent proficiency in English (and Arabic if teaching in Arabic).

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Mechatronics Engineering and related disciplines.
• Experience in curricular development and academic program review.
• Ability to incorporate digital and web‑based teaching tools.
• Strong research and publication record.
