General Accountant – Manufacturing

About the role

We are looking for a General Accountant to join the Finance & Operations team of a leading food manufacturer in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on managing the full accounting cycle within a manufacturing environment, supporting cost control and financial reporting for pet‑food products.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain day‑to‑day accounting activities including accounts payable, receivable, bank reconciliations and ledger entries.
• Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) and assist with budgeting and forecasting.
• Calculate cost of sales by tracking ingredient, packaging and production costs, analysing gross margins by product or batch.
• Monitor inventory movements using FIFO principles, verify stock usage with production teams and reconcile physical counts.
• Develop and maintain robust Excel reporting tools to automate routine tasks and provide timely margin insights.
• Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded in QuickBooks with proper documentation.

Required profile

• Experience in accounting within the food manufacturing sector.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical skills for cost‑of‑sales calculations and inventory control.
• Ability to work collaboratively with production and operations teams.
