General HVAC Technician

About the role

We are looking for a General HVAC Technician to join our engineering team at a luxury hotel in Dubai. The role involves maintaining and repairing HVAC systems to ensure guest comfort and safe operation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on FCUs, AHUs, FAHUs, ventilation and exhaust fans, chilled‑water plants, pumps, valves and related components.
• Diagnose and resolve guest room and public‑area temperature complaints, noise, water leakage, airflow and control issues.
• Carry out fault finding on thermostats, sensors, actuators and basic BMS functions.
• Inspect and clean coils, filters, drain pans and condensate lines; replace belts, bearings and other wear items.
• Read and interpret HVAC drawings, schematics and equipment manuals to guide repairs.
• Document work orders, update maintenance records and report recurring defects for specialist intervention.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns, secure the area and take immediate corrective action.
• Maintain housekeeping, safety standards and professional communication with guests and hotel staff.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on HVAC maintenance experience, preferably in hotel or complex commercial facilities.
• Good spoken and written English.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities with a proactive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a fast‑paced team.
• Service‑oriented and respectful in guest‑facing areas.

Required skills

• HVAC systems – FCU, AHU, FAHU, ventilation and chilled‑water plants.
• Fault finding and corrective repair of pumps, valves, filters, thermostats and actuators.
• Basic Building Management System (BMS) operation.
• Reading and interpreting HVAC drawings, schematics and control diagrams.
• Preventive and corrective maintenance procedures.
