General Insurance Underwriter

About the role

We are seeking an experienced General Insurance Underwriter to manage underwriting activities across a range of general insurance products. The role involves assessing risks, preparing quotations, negotiating policy terms, handling renewals, and building strong relationships with clients and insurers.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate risks for motor, property, marine, engineering, liability, group personal accident and other general insurance lines.
• Prepare, review and compare insurance quotations and policy terms.
• Negotiate premium rates, coverage, and conditions with insurance companies.
• Process new policies, renewals, endorsements, additions and cancellations.
• Coordinate with insurers, brokers, and clients to obtain quotations and issue policies.
• Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and insurer requirements.
• Monitor policy renewals and follow up with clients in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate records of policies, quotations and underwriting documentation.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of experience in insurance underwriting in Dubai.
• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
• Strong understanding of general insurance products and underwriting procedures.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in English; Hindi is an advantage.
• Detail‑oriented with the ability to assess risks effectively and meet deadlines.
