General Manager – Contracting (Abu Dhabi)

About the role

Antal International is partnering with a well‑established Abu Dhabi‑based business group that has operated for over four decades across construction, energy, automotive, real estate, retail and investment sectors. The contracting arm delivers residential, hospitality, commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects for both government and private clients. The General Manager – Contracting will provide strategic and operational leadership to drive growth and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the overall business strategy, operations and long‑term growth plan for the contracting division.
• Drive profitability, P&L performance, budgeting and financial management.
• Lead senior functional teams and ensure effective execution of business plans.
• Oversee large‑scale construction projects, guaranteeing delivery on time and within budget.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, PMCs, subcontractors and government authorities.
• Identify new business opportunities, strategic partnerships and avenues for sustainable growth.
• Set performance targets and promote operational excellence across the organisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering; a Master’s degree is an advantage.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in construction/contracting, including senior leadership roles.
• Proven track record of managing large‑scale, complex projects.
• Strong commercial, financial and strategic management capabilities.
• Experience leading senior functional teams and multiple business functions.
• Extensive knowledge of the UAE/GCC construction market.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and leadership abilities.
