General Manager Emerging Markets

About the role

Abbott’s Structural Heart division is seeking a General Manager for Emerging Markets to drive the strategic direction and financial performance of its portfolio across the Gulf, Middle East, Turkey, Russia and Eastern Europe. Reporting to the DVP EMEA, the role will lead sales, marketing and operational functions to accelerate growth of technologies such as Mitraclip, Triclip, TAVR and others.

Key responsibilities

• Set and achieve aggressive business objectives, including sales, margin and market‑share targets.
• Manage sales, marketing, operations and support teams in a matrix environment.
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies, local legal and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and nurture relationships with payers, physicians, hospitals, distributors and government bodies.
• Collaborate with finance, regulatory/quality, clinical, HR, communications, legal and IT functions to support seamless operations.
• Provide leadership to direct reports located in the Middle East, Eastern Europe or Turkey.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in commercial leadership within the healthcare or medical‑device sector.
• Proven track record of business growth acceleration in emerging markets.
• Strong financial management capability and experience delivering results against KPIs.
• Ability to operate across diverse cultural and regulatory environments.
