General Manager Finance & Accounts

About the role

A finance leadership position is open in Jebel Ali, Dubai, UAE, for a General Manager or Deputy General Manager covering Finance and Accounts. The role covers accounts maintenance, audit, fund management, internal controls, budgeting, asset management, organisational development, systems management and statutory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and complete accounts across two countries, in line with statutory and management requirements.
• Ensure periodic audits are completed on time, address findings and implement recommendations and best practices.
• Plan, manage and control funds at unit and location level, ensure adequate insurance coverage and manage foreign exchange exposure.
• Establish internal controls, coordinate budgeting, monitor costs and prepare financial analyses and MIS reports.
• Evaluate capex proposals, ensure proper accounting and record keeping of assets and dispose of non-performing assets in a timely way.
• Drive WCM, TPM, ISO, EMS and other organisational initiatives within the Accounts Department.
• Promote and upgrade financial and accounting systems, and integrate them with periodic reviews.
• Oversee company secretarial activities and ensure compliance with statutory, legal and corporate governance requirements.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification with a Bachelor's degree.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
