General Manager – Operations & Maintenance

About the role

Veolia is seeking a General Manager to lead its Operations & Maintenance business in Abu Dhabi, driving strategic direction, performance and sustainable growth across water and environmental services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and professional leadership to achieve organisational, business, shareholder and contractual objectives.
• Develop, implement and execute company strategy, policies and budgets in line with shareholder goals.
• Oversee resource, contract, financial, HR and O&M management to balance contractual obligations with shareholder expectations.
• Ensure compliance with legal, policy and contractual obligations while representing the company with stakeholders.

Required profile

• Recognised degree in Engineering or Environmental Science and a management development qualification.
• Minimum 15 years experience in water‑related or industrial environments, including at least 8 years in senior management.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and leadership abilities with excellent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of wastewater treatment plant processes.
• Expertise in asset management principles.
• Project management competence.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google applications.
