General Practitioner - Obstetrics & Gynaecology

About the role

The General Practitioner – Obstetrics & Gynaecology will deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred care to women across outpatient and inpatient settings at Danat Al Emarat Hospital in Abu Dhabi. The role involves assessment, diagnosis and management of routine obstetric and gynaecological cases, with escalation to specialists for complex conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient care for obstetric and gynaecological patients within the defined scope of practice.
• Conduct initial assessments, physical examinations and develop management plans for routine cases.
• Manage antenatal and postnatal care, monitoring maternal and fetal well‑being.
• Diagnose and treat common gynaecological conditions, ensuring appropriate follow‑up.
• Assist in labour and delivery under supervision and support emergency obstetric cases.
• Identify complications and promptly escalate to consultants or specialists.
• Perform minor procedures and clinical interventions as permitted by hospital guidelines.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes.

Required profile

• Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• Valid Department of Health (DOH) licence as a General Practitioner (or eligibility to obtain).
• 2–4 years of clinical experience in obstetrics and gynaecology.

Required skills

• Proficiency with an electronic medical record (EMR) system.
