General Practitioner – Pediatrics

About the role

The General Practitioner – Pediatrics will deliver high‑quality primary and preventive care to infants, children and adolescents at Danat Al Emarat, a leading women’s and children’s hospital in Abu Dhabi. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the GP will ensure safe, family‑centered services across routine consultations, acute care and minor emergencies.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and physical examinations for pediatric patients.
• Diagnose and manage common acute and chronic childhood illnesses.
• Provide preventive services including growth monitoring, developmental assessments and immunizations.
• Stabilize and manage minor pediatric emergencies.
• Educate parents and caregivers on disease prevention, nutrition and child development.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and collaborate with pediatric specialists and allied health professionals.
• Adhere to clinical governance, patient safety and infection‑control standards.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree from an accredited institution.
• Completed accredited internship and valid DOH license (or eligibility) as a General Practitioner.
• Minimum two years of clinical experience in Pediatrics, Family Medicine or Primary Care with pediatric exposure.
• Strong knowledge of pediatric assessment, diagnosis and treatment protocols.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children and families.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
