General Technician – Abu Dhabi Hotel

About the role

We are looking for an efficient, passionate and team‑oriented General Technician to keep Holiday Inn Abu Dhabi’s facilities running smoothly. You will be responsible for maintaining guest rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house systems, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for guests and colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine repairs and preventative maintenance across guest rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house facilities.
• Attend to maintenance requests promptly, completing repairs safely and to a high standard.
• Perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and general maintenance tasks.
• Inspect equipment, identify faults and report major issues to the supervisor.
• Follow the preventative maintenance schedule and keep accurate records of work performed.
• Adhere to hotel, IHG and local health and safety requirements, reporting any hazards.
• Maintain clean, safe and organised tools, equipment and engineering areas.
• Support the Engineering team during emergencies, breakdowns and other operational needs.
• Interact professionally with guests, colleagues and contractors, and support sustainability initiatives.

Required profile

• Legal right to work in the UAE and previous experience in a similar hotel maintenance role.
• Passion for hospitality and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest service.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and general building maintenance.
• Ability to safely use common hand tools, power tools and maintenance equipment.
• Understanding of preventative maintenance procedures and safety standards.
• Problem‑solving skills to identify faults and carry out appropriate repairs or escalations.
• Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
• High school diploma, technical certificate or relevant vocational training preferred.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays as required.
