General Technician – Hotel Maintenance

About the role

Join the Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah team as a General Technician, where you will ensure the hotel’s physical safety and functionality while delivering memorable guest experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections and perform maintenance and repair tasks across hotel systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural elements.
• Diagnose issues accurately and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime and disruption to operations.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Housekeeping to schedule repairs without compromising guest experience.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, parts used and time spent.
• Monitor inventory levels of supplies and equipment and place orders as needed.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of building systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire life safety and mechanical equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, operation manuals and maintenance procedures.
• Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance of hotel/facility equipment and systems.
• Knowledge of workplace safety practices, permit‑to‑work, lockout/tagout and risk assessment procedures.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS), Guestroom Management System (GRMS) and Chiller Management System (CMS).
• Ability to diagnose faults, troubleshoot equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Understanding of energy conservation practices and efficient operation of building services.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with contractors, suppliers and internal departments.
