Generator Winder (Field Service)

About the role

You will perform advanced generator field service activities, focusing on stator and rotor winding repairs, troubleshooting winding‑related issues, and supporting generator testing and mechanical assembly during outages. The role offers a path toward technical leadership as a Lead Winder.

Key responsibilities

• Execute complex generator installation, overhaul, repair, modification and rewind projects while complying with Siemens Energy quality and safety standards.
• Perform stator and rotor winding activities such as rewinding, brazing, insulation work, component replacement and refurbishment of generator parts.
• Conduct stator rewedging, implement winding improvement initiatives and resolve winding‑related issues during generator testing.
• Support generator disassembly and reassembly during outages, collaborating with testing engineers and mechanical teams.
• Provide technical leadership through troubleshooting, knowledge sharing, continuous‑improvement actions, accurate documentation and mentoring of junior staff.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience with generator winding, including stator and rotor rewinding, rewedging and repair on large turbo generators.
• Strong technical knowledge of winding construction, insulation systems, winding connections and brazing techniques.
• Proven problem‑solving abilities to diagnose abnormal conditions and implement effective solutions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of multicultural, cross‑functional field service teams.
