Government Affairs Lead – Middle East (UAE or Saudi Arabia)

About the role

Cohere is building a Government Affairs and Public Policy team to shape AI policy and digital transformation across the Gulf region. As the Government Affairs Lead for the Middle East, you will represent Cohere with ministries, regulators and innovation agencies in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, helping position the company as a trusted partner in the region’s AI ambitions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute Cohere’s government affairs strategy for the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
• Build and maintain relationships with ministries, regulators, sovereign entities and innovation agencies.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting AI, digital transformation and public‑sector procurement.
• Provide strategic advice to senior leadership on policy trends and opportunities.
• Collaborate with legal, responsible AI, communications and commercial teams to align stakeholder engagement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in government affairs, public policy or related roles within the Middle East.
• Deep understanding of AI, digital innovation and public‑sector initiatives.
• Strong network with government officials and regulatory bodies in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and influence senior executives.
