Graduate Civil Engineer - Roads and Highways (Emirati National)

About the role

WSP in the Middle East is looking for a talented and motivated Graduate Civil Engineer to join its team in Sharjah and contribute to innovative and sustainable road and highway projects across the Middle East. The role offers exposure to challenging projects, work alongside experienced professionals and access to continuous learning and career development.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out discipline designs to the required standards and quality, and ensure all designs are reviewed to those standards.
• Support project submittals and the No Objection Certificate (NOC) process.
• Stay updated with technical developments in the discipline and understand the contract and scope of project deliverables.
• Embed health and safety into all work practices in line with company policy and meet statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Give regular work status updates, including risks or concerns, to the line manager and attend team and project meetings as required.
• Ensure QMS and project lifecycle compliance across the team and projects, and contribute to the BU strategy and the company's approach to sustainability.
• Take part in the Technical Working Group (TWG), give feedback on business development opportunities and support the delivery of road and highway design.

Required profile

• UAE national with a valid family book.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution; recent graduate or up to 2 years of professional experience in road and highway design projects.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, road design standards and construction methodologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective verbal and written communication in English and Arabic.
• Ability to work in a team, adapt to changing project requirements, and willingness to work on-site and travel to project locations.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Geotechnical analysis tools.
