Graduate Project Engineer – UAE National (Sharjah)

About the role

Wood is seeking a Graduate Project Engineer – UAE National to join its Sharjah business unit. The role supports the company’s Emiratization objectives and offers the chance to work on both greenfield and brownfield projects that contribute to low‑carbon energy transitions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, scheduling, and execution of engineering projects.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, contractors, consultants, and vendors to support project delivery.
• Monitor project progress and prepare regular status reports.
• Support preparation and review of technical documents, drawings, specifications, and deliverables.
• Track project schedules, budgets, and resource requirements.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, engineering standards, and HSE requirements.
• Participate in project meetings and maintain accurate minutes and action logs.
• Assist in identifying project risks and support mitigation plans.
• Conduct site visits and inspections as required.
• Support procurement activities by coordinating material requests and vendor communications.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (recent graduates encouraged).
• Fresh graduate or up to 2 years of relevant engineering/project coordination experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Analytical and problem‑solving mindset.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Organizational and time‑management skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with project management principles and tools.
• Basic understanding of engineering drawings and technical documentation.
