About the role
Exceptional Hospitality Starts with You. As a Group, Conference and Events (GC&E) Assistant Manager you will support the team in driving revenue through effective sales efforts while creating memorable experiences for guests.
Key responsibilities
- Drive GC&E revenue by maximizing group, conference and event sales opportunities through proactive selling and strong conversion of inquiries.
- Support business performance by reviewing plans, identifying revenue gaps and implementing initiatives to maximize occupancy.
- Execute the sales strategy, ensuring departmental activities align with business objectives and adapt to market changes.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring high satisfaction throughout the sales process.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer preferences to identify new opportunities.
- Conduct regular spot checks on bookings, contracts and systems to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Promote the hotel through sales calls, client events, exhibitions and other visibility initiatives.
- Inspire and develop the team by supervising, coaching, mentoring and recognizing achievements.
- Ensure exceptional event experiences by coordinating with operational departments.
- Support department leadership with reporting, forecasting and day‑to‑day commercial initiatives.
Required profile
- Previous experience in Group, Conference & Events, Sales or a related commercial role, preferably in a luxury hotel.
- Supervisory or team‑leadership experience within a hotel sales environment (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of GC&E sales processes, including enquiries, proposals, negotiations and contracting.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify and maximize revenue opportunities.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
- Proficiency in hotel systems and Microsoft Office applications; experience with sales and event management systems is an advantage.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast‑paced hotel environment.
