Head Chef

About the role

The Head Chef is accountable for the overall success of daily kitchen operations at Le Méridien Dubai. The role combines hands‑on culinary expertise with leadership of the kitchen team, ensuring high‑quality food, guest satisfaction, and adherence to budget and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a wide range of dishes for regular service and special events.
• Develop new menus and recipes, maintaining brand standards and culinary creativity.
• Supervise all kitchen areas, ensuring consistent product quality and compliance with food‑handling, sanitation, and safety regulations.
• Manage purchasing, receiving, storage, and equipment maintenance, reporting any malfunctions.
• Control portion sizes, waste, and implement environmentally friendly processes.
• Lead, train, and develop kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing team.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 4 years of culinary or food‑and‑beverage experience, OR a 2‑year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel & Restaurant Management, or related field with 2 years of experience.
• Proven ability to manage kitchen operations, budgets, and staff.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and local regulations.
