Head Nurse – Outpatient Department (OPD)

About the role

The Head Nurse – OPD will lead the outpatient department at Sunny Medical Center Sharqan, ensuring safe, effective, and patient‑centred care while overseeing clinical activities and supporting staff development.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care, prioritising needs and delivering appropriate nursing interventions.
• Coordinate unit activities, act as charge nurse when required, and collaborate with the Nursing Supervisor on staffing.
• Develop, revise and monitor care plans, maintain accurate real‑time clinical records, and perform advanced nursing skills.
• Facilitate patient education, multidisciplinary communication and evidence‑based practice.
• Provide life‑support interventions such as BLS, PALS, ACLS and Neonatal Resuscitation as needed.
• Participate in developing standards, protocols and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing nursing teams and implementing change.
• Registered Nurse licence with the relevant UAE health authority and current re‑licensure.
• Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card.
• Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written); Arabic proficiency is desirable.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation certification.
• Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems for clinical documentation.
