Head of Arabic – School Leadership

About the role

Aldar Education is seeking a Head of Arabic to lead the Arabic language department across its schools in Abu Dhabi. The role involves inspiring students, delivering high‑quality inclusive learning, and supporting the school’s strategic vision aligned with Abu Dhabi’s educational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement department policies, curricula and schemes of work for Years 5‑13, ensuring provision for SEN, gifted, and EAL learners.
• Lead the Arabic team, manage performance, conduct faculty meetings and foster a collaborative culture.
• Oversee curriculum coverage, continuity and progression, integrating UAE culture and supporting extracurricular activities.
• Organise and analyse benchmark assessments, use data to plan interventions and monitor quality.
• Manage departmental budget, resources and staffing, and represent the department in school‑wide initiatives and events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Master’s degree in Arabic language or education (preferred).
• Minimum five years of teaching experience, with some leadership experience desired.
• Ability to develop strategic plans, analyse data and drive continuous improvement.
