Head of Assembly and Integration

About the role

Air Q Limited is establishing a new Assembly & Integration function and needs a senior leader to build it from the ground up. The role combines hands‑on technical oversight with strategic team development to ensure high‑quality, efficient production across multiple streams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and lead the Assembly & Integration organization, recruiting Assembly Leads and technicians.
• Define work standards, staffing plans and shift structures ahead of facility go‑live.
• Own line performance for low‑volume, high‑volume (S2) and ad‑hoc/launcher streams, monitoring throughput, quality, manpower utilization and schedule adherence.
• Ensure compliance with work instructions, ISO 9001 / AS9100 quality standards and production schedules.
• Collaborate with Industrialization and Process Engineering on tooling, work instructions and production readiness.
• Coordinate with component suppliers, subcontractors and contract manufacturers, escalating material, tooling or quality issues.
• Drive Lean manufacturing, line balancing and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Report performance, staffing and quality KPIs to the VP of AIT.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in assembly or production leadership, preferably in aerospace, defense or UAV manufacturing.
• Proven track record of building or scaling a production/assembly organization.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 / AS9100 quality principles.
• Experience with production planning, line balancing and manpower planning.
• Lean/continuous‑improvement mindset; PMP, Six Sigma or similar certification is a plus.
