Head of Construction & Commissioning

About the role

The Head of Construction & Commissioning leads the Construction and Commissioning function for Wood's Oil, Gas & New Energies business in Abu Dhabi. This senior position oversees the delivery of large‑scale, complex projects, ensuring they meet quality, safety, and schedule targets while supporting the transition to low‑carbon energy solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and manage all construction and commissioning activities across assigned projects.
• Develop and implement project delivery strategies that align with client expectations and Wood’s standards.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project controls teams to ensure seamless execution.
• Monitor progress, resolve technical issues, and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in construction and commissioning within the oil, gas or energy sector.
• Proven leadership ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of project delivery, risk management, and cost control.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with senior stakeholders.
