Head of Credit Trading

About the role

As the Head of Credit Trading at Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, you will lead the bank’s credit trading business, shaping strategy, managing portfolio performance and ensuring risk‑adjusted profitability. You will work closely with origination, coverage and risk teams to develop innovative credit solutions across regional and global markets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead ADCB's Credit Trading business, overseeing strategy, portfolio performance, risk management and trading profitability.
• Identify, evaluate, structure and execute credit trading opportunities across regional and global markets.
• Deliver strong risk‑adjusted returns while adhering to approved risk appetite, limits and governance frameworks.
• Partner with Origination and client coverage teams to support transaction structuring and develop innovative credit solutions.
• Monitor market developments, credit fundamentals and portfolio exposures to spot opportunities and mitigate risks.
• Develop and implement trading and hedging strategies to optimise returns and manage market and credit risk.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with market participants, counterparties, investors and internal stakeholders.
• Oversee compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements and control frameworks.
• Lead, mentor and develop a high‑performing team while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and excellence.
• Contribute to the growth and evolution of ADCB's credit markets platform through innovation and market insight.

Required profile

• Minimum 9 years of experience in Credit Trading, Fixed Income Trading, Credit Investments or related financial markets.
• Proven track record of managing credit portfolios with direct P&L responsibility and delivering consistent trading revenues.
• Strong expertise across credit products, credit risk assessment, portfolio management, valuation and market analysis.
• Experience structuring and executing complex credit transactions within a banking or institutional trading environment.
• Deep understanding of market, credit, liquidity, counterparty risks and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to identify market opportunities and translate them into profitable trading strategies.
• Experience leading and developing high‑performing teams in a fast‑paced financial markets setting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business or a related discipline.
• Professional qualifications such as CFA, FRM, MBA or a Master’s degree are advantageous.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, analytical and decision‑making capabilities.
