Head of Cross-Border Payments

About the role

The role leads the development and commercialization of new cross‑border payments products for First Abu Dhabi Bank, partnering with payment service providers and leveraging emerging technologies. It is responsible for expanding market share and revenue in both local and international markets while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Drive commercialization of existing and new cross‑border payments propositions, including blockchain, tokenisation and CBDC initiatives.
• Strategise, launch and manage campaigns to increase market share across all client segments.
• Collaborate with regulators, industry forums and fintech partners to shape first‑mover product advantages.
• Own end‑to‑end product lifecycle: business case, pricing, go‑to‑market strategy, digital collateral, launch planning and performance monitoring.
• Manage P&L, track transactional FX income and report product performance to senior leadership.
• Coordinate with IT, Operations, Risk and Sales to ensure seamless client experience and compliance.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Commerce or equivalent.
• 15‑18 years of experience driving payments product launches and managing product road‑maps.
• Proven P&L management for fee‑based income streams.
• Strong analytical, communication and consultative skills with senior‑level stakeholder engagement.
• Experience in electronic banking channels, virtual accounts and instant payments across the region.
