Head of Financial Resource Management, Africa & Middle East

About the role

Lead Standard Chartered Bank’s Wealth & Retail Banking and Corporate & Institutional Banking strategy for Financial Resource Management across Africa and the Middle East. Drive optimisation of capital and liquidity to improve return on tangible equity.

Key responsibilities

• Design and own balance‑sheet resource allocation for WRB and CIB, ensuring alignment with group and legal‑entity financial plans.
• Forecast assets, liabilities and risk‑weighted assets, own variance analysis and ensure compliance with LCR, NSFR, CET1 and leverage ratios.
• Optimise funding mix, reduce cost of funds, diversify funding sources and improve RWA volatility through distribution actions.
• Represent CPM on Asset & Liability Committees, lead liquidity stress‑testing and develop advanced balance‑sheet modelling capabilities.
• Lead process simplification for booking models, drive inter‑operability across booking centres and embed a strong risk‑aware culture.

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience in liquidity, capital and balance‑sheet management within banking.
• Proven track record of influencing senior business heads and delivering strategic financial outcomes.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks (LCR, NSFR, CET1) and group governance.
