Head of Mission Critical Senior Technical Director

About the role

The Senior Technical Director will lead WSP’s Mission Critical sector in the Middle East, with primary responsibility for data‑centre strategy, growth and delivery. Reporting to regional leadership, you will shape the regional vision, drive market expansion and ensure high‑performance, resilient solutions for critical infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the regional strategy for mission‑critical data centres, aligning with global and Middle‑East priorities.
• Champion cross‑practice collaboration (Advisory, Engineering, Sustainability, Digital) to deliver integrated, high‑value solutions.
• Lead business development initiatives, secure new opportunities and manage key client relationships.
• Oversee delivery of consulting and engineering services, ensuring projects meet resilience, efficiency and sustainability standards.
• Drive P&L performance, optimise resource allocation and achieve financial targets.
• Foster a high‑performing, inclusive team culture and set governance for pipeline, margin and delivery metrics.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture or a related technical discipline; Master’s preferred.
• 15+ years of experience in mission‑critical/data‑centre projects, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record in business development, client management and P&L ownership.
• Deep knowledge of Middle‑East regulatory frameworks (UAE/KSA) and data‑centre standards.
• Experience leading multi‑disciplinary technical teams and delivering large‑scale projects.
