Head of Public Beaches & Waterways Policies and Strategies

About the role

Lead the development and implementation of policies, strategies and long‑term plans for Dubai’s public beaches, waterways and related coastal assets. The role shapes sustainable, safe and accessible coastal spaces that enhance the visitor experience and support the city’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and update policies, standards and guidelines for public beaches and waterways.
• Create strategic plans that promote sustainable development, environmental protection and public safety.
• Provide strategic input to master plans, coastal projects and beach development initiatives.
• Conduct research and benchmarking of international best practices in coastal and waterfront management.
• Establish frameworks and KPIs to monitor policy performance and effectiveness.
• Coordinate with government agencies, internal departments, consultants, developers and other stakeholders.
• Prepare policy papers, strategic studies and presentations for senior management.
• Perform any other duties related to the role as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Urban Planning or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in public beaches, waterways or related coastal management.
• Strong knowledge of sustainable coastal development and management practices.
• UAE family book holders are preferred.

Required skills

• Understanding of sustainable development principles.
• Knowledge of public safety considerations for coastal areas.
• Familiarity with environmental protection regulations.
