Head of Strategic Procurement

About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing advanced engineering and technology enterprise backed by the Abu Dhabi ecosystem, is looking for a visionary Head of Strategic Procurement. The role will transform procurement from a transactional function into a high‑speed, agile commercial enabler for deep‑tech hardware, high‑performance digital computing, and advanced engineering assets.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement end‑to‑end global sourcing and category‑management strategies for specialized technical equipment, complex engineering components, advanced machinery, and hyper‑scale digital infrastructure.
• Lead high‑stakes negotiations for multi‑million‑dirham commercial agreements, master service agreements and strategic vendor alliances.
• Establish internal governance to ensure compliance with cross‑border trade, international logistics and export‑control regulations.
• Redesign the supply chain to improve material speed, cost efficiency and commercial agility while maintaining strict regulatory oversight.
• Partner with executive leadership, technical directors and external stakeholders to align supply‑chain velocity with project timelines.
• Build, mentor and scale a high‑performing procurement team, fostering transparency and continuous skill development.

Required profile

• 10+ years of progressive procurement leadership in asset‑heavy, highly regulated engineering sectors such as defence, aerospace, telecom or advanced manufacturing.
• Proven track record managing large CapEx portfolios and global Tier‑1 supplier networks.
• Deep knowledge of international commercial law, dual‑use frameworks, trade‑compliance and supply‑chain risk management.
• Strong boardroom presence with the ability to translate complex constraints into strategic options.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or a related business discipline.
