About the role

The Head of Upper Elementary (Grade 3,4 & 5) at SAIS is responsible for overseeing the operations and educational programs specifically designed for students aged 7‑10 years. This role ensures the academic and developmental needs of upper elementary students are met through effective leadership and management.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage upper elementary activities, ensuring programs run smoothly, efficiently and effectively each day.
• Provide students with guidance, counseling and training to support growth and development.
• Maintain effective communication between students and parents.
• Ensure learning facilities are clean, hygienic and safe for instruction.
• Monitor teachers and guarantee full coverage of the syllabus throughout the year.
• Set annual objectives for instructional and extracurricular programs.
• Preserve academic and other school records.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or Educational Leadership, or equivalent.
• Practical experience in a similar head of upper elementary role.
• Excellent knowledge of elementary and lower primary curriculum content.
• Strong leadership experience and skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Outstanding coaching and mentoring skills for new teachers.
