Head Sommelier (Chinese)

About the role

Wynn Al Marjan Island is seeking a Head Sommelier – Chinese to lead its wine program and elevate the guest experience across the resort’s beverage outlets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the sommelier team, upholding Wynn values, wine program standards, and service excellence.
• Act as a brand ambassador, building positive relationships with employees, members, guests, and partners.
• Collaborate with the Administrative Wine Team and Membership Team on wine sales initiatives and business growth projects.
• Oversee wine list development, team training, and adherence to luxury wine service and safety standards.
• Plan and conduct wine tastings, educational seminars, and pre‑shift briefings to enhance team knowledge and guest engagement.

Required profile

• Minimum age of 21 years in accordance with local alcohol service regulations.
• 3‑5 years of sommelier experience in a luxury hotel, fine‑dining restaurant, or integrated resort.
• Certified Sommelier qualification (Court of Master Sommeliers, WSET, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of global wine regions, varietals, vintages, food pairing, and wine service techniques.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team‑development abilities, with experience training and mentoring staff.

Required skills

• Proficiency with POS systems.
• Wine inventory management and cellar control expertise.
