Heavy Equipment Service Technician – UAE

About the role

CDhorizon is looking for a skilled, safety‑conscious Heavy Equipment Service Technician to support its UAE service operations. The role involves both workshop and on‑site work, ensuring excavators, bulldozers, wheel loaders and other earthmoving machines stay operational for construction, mining and infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and major repairs on a range of heavy earthmoving equipment, including engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems and undercarriage components.
• Provide rapid on‑site field service at customer sites across the UAE, responding to breakdown calls and delivering technical guidance.
• Conduct pre‑delivery, statutory and condition inspections, oil sampling and wear analysis to meet safety and regulatory standards.
• Document all service activities, maintain maintenance logs, and report parts usage for inventory control.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, UAE safety regulations and relevant Dubai Municipality/ADNOC guidelines.
• Collaborate with supervisors, parts departments and junior technicians to improve processes and support continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Diploma, ITI or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering, Heavy Equipment Technology or Automotive Engineering.
• 5–7 years of hands‑on experience servicing excavators, bulldozers, wheel loaders, graders or dump trucks, preferably with brands such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi, Volvo, Liebherr or JCB.
• Strong problem‑solving, customer‑focus, communication and teamwork abilities; willingness to travel and work outside standard hours.
• Valid UAE driving licence and physical fitness for workshop and rugged site conditions.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic systems in heavy earthmoving equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Proficiency with diagnostic software (e.g., Caterpillar ET, Komatsu KOMTRAX) and workshop tooling.
• Welding, cutting and fabrication techniques for equipment repairs.
• Under‑carriage inspection and wear‑measurement expertise.
