About the role

The Homeroom Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, stimulating and respectful learning environment where every pupil can make exceptional progress. The role involves planning and delivering engaging lessons, monitoring student attainment, and fostering a love of learning across all abilities.

Key responsibilities

• Set high expectations and motivate pupils to achieve their best.
• Establish a safe, respectful classroom atmosphere.
• Plan and deliver well‑structured lessons that build on pupils’ prior knowledge.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
• Assess and track pupil progress, providing feedback and guidance.
• Reflect on teaching effectiveness and adapt approaches accordingly.
• Contribute to curriculum design and ensure high standards of literacy and Standard English.
• Apply systematic synthetic phonics for early reading and appropriate strategies for early mathematics.
• Assign homework and organise out‑of‑class activities to reinforce learning.
